Introduction

Officially the number one form of communication globally, SMS if used correctly can be one of the most cost-effective and best ways of marketing or adding value to your business. However, we are strictly opposed to the sending of unsolicited text messages, what we define as SPAM messages.

Spam messages, defined

If you have not received consent from your customer to use their mobile number to contact them via SMS, then don’t as you may be breaking the law. Faretext strictly prohibits any SPAM messages to be sent to end-user mobile phones from our Faretext or Oello Services at any time.

Any unsolicited, unexpected, or unwanted SMS text messages sent to the mobile users in order to mislead them or extort their valuables from them are to be considered SPAM, as well as any SMS text message originating from someone they have not authorised to have their mobile numbers.

Our users specifically agree NOT to use Faretext or Oello Services to send SPAM SMS messages. Our users send must comply with the following principles:

  • No false, invalid or misleading information in the subject line or the body of SMS message should be sent.
  • No SMS must be sent to mobile subscribers without having previously obtained her/his consent.
  • Text displayed must clearly state or illustrate the service or product that is offered.
  • Marketing campaigns must clearly identify who is providing the service (Sender ID) & an appropriate opt-out included


Action taken if Anti-Spam Policy is not followed

Any evidence of users not adhering to this anti-spam policy will cause immediate suspension of their associated SMS service and might also result in freezing of all SMS accounts to ensure an immediate end to the violation until the details of the case are investigated.


Abuse Reporting

Please let us know about any abuse or unwanted/unsolicited messages. In your email, please include your mobile number, the date and time you received it and the contents of the message. Please send your details to spam@oello.co.uk
